Paradise Beach is a long sandy beach situated between Jeffreys Bay and St Francis Bay (7kms west of Jeffreys Bay and 7kms east of St Francis Bay). Its actually a suburb of JBay but is relatively untouched by development.
Surrounded by nature reserves and estuaries, you can often spot tiny buck, tortoises, numerous birds, rabbits, mongoose and otters - all much loved by locals.
To fish at Botha Street, the Water Tower, Ann Avenue and Barracuda is a real experience and you will always walk away with cob, shad, yellow tail etc The different reefs might give you cray fish, alikreuk and mussels if you are lucky.
Jeffreysbay Area
Jeffreys Bay is acknowledged as one of the top 10 surf spots in the world and is host to the Winter Fest annual event. Golfers have a selection of courses nearby and there are both tennis and bowling facilities. For the more adventurous, scuba diving is available, as well as dune boarding and deep-sea fishing.
The Jeffreys Bay Shell Museum houses an impressive and beautiful collection of local shells gathered on the beaches of Jeffreys Bay, as well as shells from other countries.
Visitors are welcome to collect specimens which are varied and plentiful. There are a number of small nature reserves in the area, such as the Kabeljous Estuary and Nature Reserve, which is a walk-about reserve, with a safe beach for swimming and excellent fishing opportunities, as well as bird watching.
The Noorsekloof Nature Reserve is a 28.7ha reserve stretching up to Wavecrest -small buck and many birds can be seen along the 3km trail running alongside the stream.
Then, there is the Seekoei River Nature Reserve, which is on the Seekoei River estuary. It is a bird watchers paradise, as the hide overlooks the Seekoei River where there is an abundance of water fowl.
